Lahore: Pakistani actress and model Sahifa Jabbar Khattak has revealed that the income from the showbiz industry is so limited that it becomes difficult to manage household expenses.

In a recent appearance on a YouTube show, Sahifa shed light on her life, career, and the realities of the showbiz industry. She shared that she comes from a Pashtun family, where decisions about education and marriage were always made with her consent. She further mentioned that she had a keen interest in education, particularly mathematics and accounting, and never thought of joining the entertainment industry.

Sahifa explained that her entry into the showbiz world was purely by chance. During university, she modeled for her cousin’s fashion house, and just days before her wedding, she was selected for an audition for a drama, marking the beginning of her acting career.

Regarding payment in the drama industry, Sahifa revealed that even if a drama runs for 4 to 6 months, payments are made in installments, and they are often not enough to cover basic household expenses. She added that for actors who rely solely on dramas, earning from annual projects, daily shoots, and social media is essential to cover their living costs.

Sahifa also highlighted that this is why many actors pursue additional sources of income, such as running production houses, launching fashion brands, or engaging in other business ventures.
