Islamabad : Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has urged for a consultative approach to address the issue of madrassah registration. He emphasized the need to consider Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s viewpoint and resolve the matter with a positive mindset instead of prolonging it unnecessarily.
In a message delivered during a consultative meeting of PML Punjab district officials on Monday, Chaudhry Shujaat highlighted that the Pakistan Muslim League is being reorganized and revitalized with renewed spirit and determination.
The meeting, convened as part of the party’s restructuring efforts, was attended by district officials and various wings’ representatives, who presented organizational recommendations to PML Chief Organizer Dr. Muhammad Amjad. The officials also highlighted challenges faced by workers, expressing hope for swift resolution under the leadership.
Dr. Muhammad Amjad assured the participants that workers’ concerns would be addressed promptly. He announced that a liaison officer would soon be appointed at the Muslim League House to handle complaints and grievances of party officials and workers efficiently.
In his message, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain underscored the sensitivity and significance of the madrassah registration issue. “This matter can be resolved easily through mutual consultation. Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s opinion must be heard and given due importance,” he stated.
Chaudhry Shujaat warned against further complicating the matter, saying it could yield undesirable consequences. He urged all stakeholders to adopt a constructive approach, noting that Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s perspective was largely positive. “Delaying the resolution will only worsen the issue, which is not advisable,” he added.
The PML leader also highlighted the difficulties faced by madrassah students regarding registration, particularly in remote areas. “Many registration offices are located far from students’ residences, creating significant hardships, especially for students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he pointed out. He stressed the need for better arrangements to alleviate these challenges.
Chaudhry Shujaat called on all relevant parties to play a positive role in resolving the matter.
The meeting concluded with special prayers for the victims of the APS tragedy, expressing solidarity with the bereaved families and condemning terrorism. The participants also voiced strong support for the forces combating terrorism across the country.
