Khalilur Rehman Qamar, a renowned playwright and screenwriter, has filed a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Cell against a “honey-trap” gang for allegedly leaking his objectionable videos on social media. According to Qamar, the gang had been blackmailing him and extorting money from him after luring him to a woman’s home on the pretext of discussing a new drama project.
Qamar claims that he was beaten and forced to pay a ransom when he arrived at the woman’s home. The gang then leaked videos of him on social media after he refused to pay more money. The playwright has stated that his reputation has been harmed due to the leakage of these videos.
The FIA Cyber Crime Cell has confirmed receipt of Qamar’s complaint and will investigate the matter. This is not the first time Qamar has taken action against the gang. He had previously registered a case at Sundar Police Station in Lahore on July 21 after his alleged kidnapping. Accused Amna Urooj and 11 others are currently on remand in connection with the case.
The alleged mastermind behind the “honey-trap” scandal, Hassan Shah, was arrested on Tuesday. The case has sparked widespread outrage and concern about the safety and security of individuals in the entertainment industry.
