Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have returned to Mumbai from Alibaug to be there for their best friend, Ayan Mukerji, as he mourns the loss of his father, Indian media reports.
Ayan Mukerji’s father and veteran actor, Deb Mukherjee, passed away at 83.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt went to Alibaug to celebrate Alia Bhatt’s upcoming birthday. However, the couple has now returned to Mumbai for Deb’s last rites.
Ayan shares an extremely close bond with Ranbir and Alia. Karan Johar also reached Ayan’s residence to pay his respects.
Deb Mukherjee worked in several Bollywood films, including Aansoo Ban Gaye Phool, Abhinetri, Do Aankhen, Baaton Baaton Mein, Kaminey and Gudgudee.
Several Bollywood stars including Kajol, Ajay Devgn, Rani Mukerji, Tanuja, Hrithik Roshan, Sidharth Malhotra, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are likely to pay their final tributes to the late actor.
Ayan Mukerji is currently shooting for War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR.
After finishing this shoot schedule, Ayan is likely to begin the pre-production work for Brahmastra 2. On Thursday, Ranbir Kapoor confirmed the same when he also shared a big update on Brahmastra’s sequel.
“Brahmastra 2 is something that Ayan has been nurturing as a dream for a very long time. He is currently working on War 2. Once this releases, he will start pre-production of Brahmastra 2. It is definitely happening. We haven’t really announced much of it, but then some really interesting announcements (will be made soon) regarding Brahmastra 2,” the actor said.
