Doha(The COW News Digital)Qatar has strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrike in Doha, with Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani labeling it as an act of “state terrorism.” In a press conference on Tuesday, the Qatari leader declared that his country will not limit its response to verbal condemnation but reserves the right to retaliate decisively.

The Prime Minister described the strike as both “illegal and provocative,” accusing Israel of deliberately sabotaging international efforts for a Gaza ceasefire. He noted that the timing of the assault was no coincidence, as it occurred during a high-level meeting where Hamas negotiators were discussing U.S.-brokered proposals for ending the conflict.

Sheikh Mohammed announced that Qatar is preparing to take legal action against Israel at the international level, confirming that a dedicated legal team has already been formed. “We are at a decisive turning point. This is no longer about statements—it is time for action,” he said firmly.

He accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of dragging the region into chaos and warned that such aggression poses a serious threat to peace and stability across the Middle East.

Addressing speculation about Washington’s role, Sheikh Mohammed dismissed reports that the United States had prior knowledge of the strike. “There is no truth to claims of advance warning. American officials contacted us only 10 minutes after the attack,” he clarified. He explained that the Israeli drones used in the operation evaded radar detection, preventing Qatar from intercepting them in time.

The Prime Minister also rejected suggestions that Qatar has suspended its mediation role in the Gaza conflict. He stressed that Qatar remains committed to its diplomatic mission and will not be deterred by external pressures or military aggression. “Our mediation continues. No one can push us off this path,” he asserted.

The Israeli strike, which killed six people including relatives of senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya, has intensified regional tensions. While Hamas leadership survived the attack, Qatar’s stance underscores the growing international fallout.

Analysts warn that Qatar’s decision to pursue legal avenues against Israel could heighten diplomatic confrontations at the United Nations and International Criminal Court. For now, Doha insists it will balance legal measures with its ongoing role as a mediator in one of the Middle East’s most volatile crises.
