On the occasion of Defense Day, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited Yadgar-e-Shahada in Lahore Cantt to pay tribute to the sacrifices of national heroes. CM Maryam laid flowers on the martyrs’ memorial and offered prayers for the high ranks of the martyrs.
During her visit, CM Maryam met with families of martyrs and expressed her pride in their sacrifices. She lauded the services of the Pakistan Army, saying, “When forces wake up, we sleep peacefully, they protect our borders.” She emphasized that internal defense is a collective responsibility and urged everyone to protect the dignity and respect of the forces.
CM Maryam also paid tribute to the mothers of martyrs, saying, “Bravery is born from a mother’s lap, I salute the bravery of these mothers.” She spent time with the children of martyrs, acknowledging their sacrifices and offering support.
