Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Raoof Hassan has claimed that party chairman Imran Khan’s prison cell at Attock Jail was intentionally infested with insects.
Harsh Prison Conditions
Hassan alleged that Khan was not provided with a rug to sleep on and was forced to sleep on the floor, which was deliberately infested with insects. He claimed that Khan would often remove insects from his hair.
Weekly Meetings
Hassan said he meets Khan every week and praised Bushra Bibi, Khan’s wife, for speaking out about the prison conditions.
Intra-Party Elections
Regarding intra-party elections, Hassan said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned them on July 23. He acknowledged that a reference against the Chief Election Commissioner should have been filed earlier.
Appointment of Ad-Hoc Judges
Hassan criticized the appointment of ad-hoc judges, suggesting it may be an attempt to reverse the 8-5 verdict in the reserved seats case. He argued that only the original bench can review the decision.
