Islamabad :Senator Sherry Rehman, Vice President of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has called on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to apologize to the nation. Speaking during an interview, she highlighted the difficulty in engaging with PTI, saying, “The problem with PTI is that we don’t know whom to talk to.”
Rehman noted that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had clearly stated in Parliament that PTI must seek forgiveness from the nation. She further asserted that the PPP has always engaged in political dialogue and asked, “When have we ever refused talks or shied away from negotiations?” However, she lamented that PPP’s offers for dialogue have often been met with disdain.
Rehman criticized PTI for refusing to participate in the All-Parties Conference (APC) on Palestine, despite being invited by the House. She remarked, “PTI’s current attitude reeks of arrogance, but if they are ready to change, they are most welcome.”
The PPP senator underscored her party’s commitment to peaceful politics, recalling that, “We were always instructed to remain peaceful and avoid violent tactics, even during movements.” She also emphasized that PPP has always honored its promises and resolved critical issues, such as the registration of madrassas, through parliamentary means.
