Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat has discussed the financial implications of party founder Imran Khan’s imprisonment, particularly the significant costs borne by the government.
While speaking to reporters in the federal capital, Marwat stated that the government’s expenditure on Imran Khan’s one day in jail amounts to millions of rupees. He added that Khan’s legal cases are being handled by lawyers, with significant legal fees attached, though he did not justify the millions spent on these fees.
Marwat also mentioned that donations come in for Imran Khan, either from party supporters or others, to cover such expenses. He further revealed that over the past month, Ali Amin Khan has paid 7 crore rupees in legal fees.
“Just because the money comes in, it does not mean that we should disregard the costs,” Marwat emphasized. “There should be accountability for the lawyers’ fees.”
