Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Khan Marwat has spoken out against former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hamid, stating that his actions caused more harm to the party than good. Marwat, a lawyer, condemned Gen Faiz’s actions as spy chief, including victimizing political opponents and harassing them.
Marwat also criticized the decision to bring back Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying it caused instability in the province. He emphasized that the militants should have been properly rehabilitated instead of being left unattended, leading to a resurgence of militancy.
Regarding the upcoming August 22 rally, Marwat confirmed that it would take place as planned despite government efforts to stop it. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar expressed doubts about the rally being allowed, citing the PTI’s record of unrest.
