Sargodha:
Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has blamed the PTI government for the deteriorating situation in Kurram Agency. Speaking at a press conference during the wedding ceremony of former Minister of State for Interior, Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi’s nephew, he said that despite the announcement by the Chief Minister, the roads in Kurram Agency remain closed.
He further stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had called an Apex Committee meeting to avoid embarrassment, and it remains to be seen whether the decisions of the committee will be implemented. Kundi mentioned that 200 people had been martyred in Kurram Agency and that the situation there remains critical. People are unable to go outside at night due to security concerns.
Faisal Karim Kundi also highlighted that even the Chief Minister cannot visit his own area at night. He said that the government is providing food, tents, and medicines to people through various Red Crescent camps. As Governor, he is doing what he can with limited resources, and he emphasized that the doors of his office are always open for the people of Kurram Agency.
The Governor criticized PTI for ruining the province, stating that they had been given a peaceful, prosperous, and developing province but had destroyed it in a few years. He said that now, after their actions, they are crying and calling for dialogue. He added that the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is very poor, and that an Apex Committee meeting was called for this purpose, chaired by a person who is himself under allegations. Kundi also pointed out that there had been no discussion in the assembly regarding the martyrs in Kurram Agency, nor has there been a prayer offered for them.
He clarified that he has not been consulted regarding the imposition of Governor’s rule, as this is the responsibility of the federal government. Kundi concluded by saying that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has always advocated for the rights of its workers, and as a worker himself, he is happy to be part of the celebration of one such worker.
