Islamabad( The COW News Digital)Pakistan’s Minister of State for Law and Justice, Barrister Aqeel Malik, has stated that the sons of the PTI founder are welcome to visit Pakistan for personal reasons — including meeting their father or tourism — but will not be allowed to participate in any political activity.
Speaking on Express News’ program Center Stage, Barrister Malik clarified that the sons of the PTI founder are British citizens. “Even during their previous visit, they came with a valid Pakistani visa. If they wish to visit again to meet their father, they are free to do so,” he said.
However, he warned that political agitation disguised as personal visits would not be tolerated. “No one, especially a foreign national, is allowed to enter Pakistan and engage in political movements or activities. This privilege of peaceful protest is only for Pakistani citizens under the Constitution,” Malik emphasized.
He also remarked that PTI protests in the past have led to unrest, and any such attempt by foreign visitors would breach visa terms. “All countries, including Pakistan, impose restrictions on tourist and visitor visas. One cannot enter on a tourism visa and engage in political actions,” he added.
Commenting on recent reports that the sons are planning to visit their father in jail, Barrister Malik questioned their motives. “Where were they for the past two or three years when their father was facing legal troubles? This sudden interest seems politically motivated,” he said, adding that Aleema Khan reportedly encouraged them to come.
He further questioned why the PTI founder’s sons were visiting the U.S. first if their sole intention was to see their father. “If it is truly a family visit, they are welcome. But if there’s even a hint of political intent, action will be taken,” he reiterated.
Barrister Malik also touched on the government’s alliance with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), confirming that the political journey started with PPP and will continue in the same direction.
The statement comes amid growing speculation that the PTI founder’s sons might attempt to reignite political movements by showing public support during their possible visit.
