Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership has called for the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the violent incidents of November 24.

Speaking to the media, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub blamed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Mohsin Naqvi for the violence during PTI’s protest. He emphasized that PTI’s terms for negotiations are clear, with the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law being fundamental to the country’s progress.

“We will adhere to Imran Khan’s directives regarding the civil disobedience movement,” Omar Ayub stated. He added that PTI would also reach out to Akhtar Mengal and consult other opposition parties. Key suggestions discussed during internal meetings will be presented to party chairman Imran Khan.

The PTI leader reiterated the party’s demand for a judicial commission to investigate both the May 9 and November 24 incidents. “There has been no delay in negotiations. We are peaceful citizens,” he asserted.

Accompanying Omar Ayub, PTI leader Asad Qaiser expressed concerns over the Supreme Court’s recent decisions, stating, “Our reservations have proven valid, and government representatives are treating serious matters as a joke.”

Qaiser urged the government to uphold the Constitution and rule of law instead of resorting to theatrics.

Separately, Sunni Ittehad Council leader Sahibzada Hamid Raza dismissed any perception of pressure regarding the negotiation committee. “Negotiations will take place on equal terms. We haven’t pleaded for anything in two and a half years, and we won’t start now,” he said.

Hamid Raza reiterated that there would be no compromise on the “minus Imran Khan” formula, adding that significant decisions are expected in the coming days.
