PTI leader Umar Ayub has announced that there will be no negotiations with the government if their demand for the formation of a judicial commission is not met. He stated that discussions were held on the Digital Nation Pakistan Bill and warned that those advocating for constitutional and legal adherence will now be targeted.
Speaking to the media alongside Barrister Gohar and other leaders, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Umar Ayub said the opposition had recorded effective protests in Parliament.
Ayub highlighted that the third round of negotiations with the government had concluded. However, despite assurances of a meeting with PTI’s founder, the government failed to deliver.
He reiterated that if their demands, including the formation of a judicial commission, are not met, talks with the government will be suspended. Regarding the Al-Qadir Trust case, he termed it a weakly grounded case and criticized the apparent pressure on the judiciary.
Ayub also shared updates on the Digital Pakistan Bill, which was discussed in the committee and approved by government members. The bill aims to ensure access to data and could be used to take action against those advocating for constitutional adherence after its implementation.
He further criticized the government for failing to address inflation and unemployment, pushing the public into extreme poverty.
Barrister Gohar
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar expressed concerns over the hasty legislation process in Pakistan. He claimed that in just 88 days, laws were passed without even 10 minutes of discussion, setting a troubling precedent for rushed lawmaking.
Aamir Dogar
PTI leader Aamir Dogar reported that 700 workers were brought to the Anti-Terrorism Court in Attock and subjected to inhumane treatment. Over 3,000 workers are imprisoned, and he demanded that they be treated in accordance with jail regulations.
Ali Muhammad Khan
In his media statement, Ali Muhammad Khan alleged that Imran Khan exposed a U.S. conspiracy, while Shehbaz Sharif used the diplomatic cable as a pretext for action. He accused judges of delivering extraordinary and unfounded decisions.
Khan stated that Imran Khan’s “only crime” was bringing foreign investments to Pakistan and praying for lawful livelihoods for Pakistanis. He condemned the injustices against Khan and declared that such actions would not be tolerated.
