Islamabad( The COW News Digital)Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) finds itself embroiled in confusion regarding the timeline and strategy of its ongoing protest movement. Conflicting announcements and differing statements from party leaders have muddled the clarity around the protest’s duration and the key dates involved.

Initially, the party’s founder, Imran Khan, had called for a protest on August 5. However, just two days ago, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur suggested that the party was planning a 90-day-long movement. This divergence has raised questions about the actual strategy and objectives of the protest.

On Tuesday, senior PTI leader Barrister Ali Zafar publicly confirmed the confusion within the party ranks. He mentioned that there had been no meeting with Imran Khan recently, and that mixed messages were coming from different corners. Barrister Ali Zafar hinted at a possible conspiracy behind the contradictory narratives, explaining that while Imran Khan’s message was clear, different discussions in the parliamentary committee conveyed otherwise. According to him, no definitive conclusion had been reached.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s sister, Alima Khan, linked the mention of a 90-day movement to the parliamentary activities of PTI parliamentarians, suggesting that it was related more to legislative politics rather than street protests.

The most definitive stance, however, came from PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, who categorically rejected the 90-day protest claim made by Ali Amin Gandapur. Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, Salman Akram Raja asserted that the only valid date for the protest was the one announced by Imran Khan—August 5. He emphasized that any other claims regarding a 90-day agitation were baseless and warned party members against contradicting the official position, threatening disciplinary action for any dissenters.

In a further attempt to calm the situation, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar stated that there was no real discord within the party and attributed the confusion to simple misunderstandings.

As PTI prepares to intensify its protest campaign, clarity on the protest timeline remains critical. The internal disputes and conflicting statements, however, risk diluting the party’s message and undermining the unity of its supporters.
