Lahore: The player drafts for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be hosted for the first time in the historic city of Gwadar, Balochistan.
In a statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), it was announced that the port city of Gwadar will host the PSL 10 player draft on January 11, 2025.
PCB Chairman, Najam Sethi, stated that Gwadar, with its magnificent coastline and strategic importance, has become a center for Pakistan’s economic future. Through hosting the PSL player draft, our goal is to highlight the cultural and economic significance of this city.
He further mentioned that he is eagerly looking forward to welcoming all franchises and relevant stakeholders in Gwadar on January 11, as it will be a significant step towards the 10th edition of PSL.
HBL PSL CEO, Salman Naseer, expressed that it is a matter of pride for them to select Gwadar as the host city for the player draft. This initiative will extend PSL’s reach across Pakistan and introduce the country’s natural beauty to the global stage.
The PCB’s announcement did not provide further details about the time and location of the draft event.
Additionally, the statement mentioned that announcements regarding player relegation and retention will be made by the end of December.
