Major political parties in Karachi, including PTI, TLP, JI, and MQM-P, staged protests on Friday against prolonged power outages and water shortages in the city. The demonstrations were held outside K-Electric offices, water hydrants, and major city points, with participants demanding an end to loadshedding and adequate water supply during the extreme hot and humid weather.
Protesters blamed the government and K-Electric for the crises, citing hundreds of deaths due to intense loadshedding in the past week. They carried placards and banners, chanting slogans against the authorities.
Leaders from the parties, including JI\’s Munem Zafar and TLP\’s Mufti Qasim Fakhri, condemned the government\’s inaction and demanded immediate resolution to the crises. MQM-P lawmakers also protested outside the Sindh Assembly, calling for an end to loadshedding and water shortages.
