Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake an official visit to Egypt from December 18 to 20, according to a statement by the Foreign Office spokesperson. During his visit, the Prime Minister will attend the 11th Summit of the Developing 8 (D-8) countries in Cairo.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will also participate in the D-8 Ministerial Council meeting on December 18.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also attend a special D-8 meeting addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the reconstruction challenges. In this session, he will highlight Pakistan’s principled stance on the Palestinian issue.
The Prime Minister will emphasize the need for peace in the Middle East and is expected to hold meetings with other leaders attending the summit.
