Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the Uraan Pakistan Program, unveiling its logo and official book during the ceremony.
The event was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal.
In his address, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the challenges faced over the past nine months, stating that the government successfully achieved macroeconomic stability through relentless efforts.
“We shed blood and sweat to achieve this economic progress and made every possible effort to secure an agreement with the IMF in 2023,” he remarked.
The Prime Minister emphasized the coalition government’s commitment to prioritizing national interests over political considerations. “Under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and our allies, we decided to make sacrifices for the sake of the nation, pledging to protect the state at any cost,” he said.
He also criticized attempts to derail the IMF agreement, describing letters written to obstruct the deal as a grave injustice. “Despite these efforts, it was destined that the IMF program would be approved, and it was,” he added.
