Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has condemned the opposition to the Gwadar Airport project, labeling it as an act of hostility towards Pakistan.
During a Federal Cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister remarked that a ceasefire had been reached in Gaza after extensive bloodshed, with over 50,000 Palestinians martyred. He pointed out that the majority of the casualties were women and children, adding that Pakistan would play an active role in the reconstruction and rehabilitation process in Gaza.
Addressing domestic matters, Prime Minister Sharif expressed support for the operationalization of Gwadar Airport, highlighting that China had invested $230 million in the project. He emphasized that any efforts to undermine the Gwadar Port through violence and conflict were nothing less than anti-national actions.
The Prime Minister also spoke about ongoing efforts against the threat of extremism, acknowledging the sacrifices of security forces in ensuring the country’s future and peace. “The sacrifices of our security personnel for the future and peace of Pakistan should be appreciated by the entire nation,” he said.
