President Asif Ali Zardari was discharged from a private hospital in Karachi on Friday evening after recovering from the coronavirus infection.
Zardari had been under treatment at the private hospital since the start of the current month after being shifted from his hometown of Nawabshah, where he had gone to celebrate Eidul Fitr.
According to the personal physician of the president, Dr Asim Hussain, Zardari has tested negative for coronavirus, and doctors have advised him to continue physiotherapy sessions for full recovery of his health.
President Zardari remained under treatment at the hospital for over 10 days.

Earlier, during Zardari’s hospitalisation, Dr Asim Hussain had insisted that the president had contracted a coronavirus infection.
He had dismissed as untrue and baseless various news reports circulating on social media and being aired by Indian media about the president’s health.
Dr Hussain had said pictures circulating on social media showing the president’s hospitalisation were also fake.
