President Asif Ali Zardari has awarded the Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) to General Li Qiaoming, Commander of the Ground Forces of the People’s Liberation Army of China, in recognition of his contributions to enhancing Pakistan-China defense cooperation.

The award was conferred during a ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday. General Li Qiaoming expressed gratitude and acknowledged the strong bonds between the two nations.

President Zardari emphasized the importance of strengthening strategic cooperation to overcome shared challenges, citing China as a trusted friend. He highlighted the historic relations between the countries and affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to standing with China in the face of global changes.

The President also stressed the need for enhanced military and defense cooperation, people-to-people contacts, and cultural linkages. He mentioned Pakistan’s efforts to promote the Chinese language to foster people-to-people ties.

General Li Qiaoming emphasized the unbreakable friendship between Pakistan and China, condemning recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan and offering condolences.
