President-Elect Donald Trump Requests Supreme Court to Delay TikTok Ban

Seeks Time for Political Resolution After Taking Office

President-elect Donald Trump has appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court to postpone the enforcement of a law that bans TikTok or compels its sale to an American company.

According to international media reports, Trump urged the court to delay the implementation of the legislation, signed by President Joe Biden, to allow him time to address the matter through political means after his inauguration on January 20.

Under the current law, Chinese-owned ByteDance must sell TikTok to a U.S. company or face a ban on the platform in the United States starting January 19.

The U.S. Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the case on January 10, just days before Trump assumes office. Trump expressed his desire to explore alternative solutions to the issue after taking the presidential oath.

The case remains a focal point of U.S.-China relations, with significant implications for global tech and data privacy.
