Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari held a high-level meeting with the Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council and his delegation to discuss economic, political, and cultural cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement issued by the Presidency, President Zardari emphasized the need to enhance parliamentary collaboration and high-level exchanges between the two countries. He highlighted that such cooperation would deepen the already strong fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
President Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening economic, political, and cultural relations with Saudi Arabia. He remarked that the historic and brotherly relations between the two nations are rooted in shared faith, history, and culture. He also noted the potential for further enhancing economic and investment cooperation.
The President expressed concern over the worsening situation in the Middle East, particularly regarding the targeting of innocent civilians and ongoing Israeli aggression. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for peace and stability in the region.
Message of Solidarity
President Zardari extended his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He conveyed that the people of Pakistan are praying for King Salman’s health, well-being, and long life.
Saudi Delegation’s Remarks
The Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council expressed gratitude for the productive discussions with Pakistan’s leadership and parliamentarians. He conveyed King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s warm regards and well wishes for President Zardari’s health and prosperity.
