Both leaders emphasized the importance of empowering young people, who make up over 60% of the country’s population. President Zardari highlighted the government’s responsibility to provide opportunities and resources for youth, citing the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme as an example of this commitment. Prime Minister Sharif noted the success of the Youth Loan and Agricultural Scheme, which has distributed 186 billion rupees to over 280,000 young entrepreneurs, and announced plans to expand the initiative with an additional 100 billion rupees.
