A recent poll by the Centre for Public Affairs Research reveals that approximately 60% of Democrats have confidence in Vice President Kamala Harris’ ability to serve as US president. About 20% do not share the same views, while another 20% are undecided.
The poll comes amid growing pressure on President Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race. Many Democrats hope Harris will take over and become the party’s presidential nominee, believing she would have a better chance against Donald Trump.
Harris has remained loyal to Biden, defending him afor Harris, citing her potential to inspire a younger generation.
The poll shows Harris’ favorability rating is similar to Biden’s, but with a lower share of unfavorable opinions. About four in 10 US adults have a favorable opinion of Harris, while about half have an unfavorable opinion.
