A police constable, Omar Nabi, was martyred, and two others were injured in an attack on a police check post in Takht Bhai, Mardan. The injured officers were shifted to Mardan Medical Complex for treatment.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack, paying tribute to the martyred constable and praying for the recovery of the injured. He praised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police for their bravery in the fight against terrorism.
According to a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) report, 273 terrorist incidents occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2024, targeting 118 policemen. The report highlights 1,433 operations were carried out, resulting in the arrest of 322 terrorists and the killing of 124. Additionally, 55 terror attacks were foiled, including two planned suicide attacks in Peshawar.
