Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed optimism that the completion of the Information Technology Park project in Islamabad will significantly contribute to achieving the country’s $25 billion IT exports target. Chairing a meeting to review ongoing IT projects and initiatives, the prime minister instructed officials to explore ways to reduce the project’s completion timeline, currently set for February 2025.

The IT Park project, being constructed in collaboration with a Korean company, is progressing rapidly. The prime minister’s directives aim to expedite the project’s completion and leverage Korean expertise to enhance its potential.

In a separate meeting, PM Shehbaz instructed authorities to shift 50% of public sector cargo inland via sea through Gwadar Port, promoting the use of the port for increased trade and investment.

The prime minister’s efforts to boost IT exports and enhance trade cooperation with China are part of a broader strategy to stimulate economic growth and development in Pakistan.
