Islamabad( The COW News Digital) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm commitment to uprooting terrorism through a comprehensive and multidimensional strategy. Speaking at the review meeting of the Steering Committee on Counter-Terrorism and Establishment of State Control, he emphasized the government’s resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism from its roots.
The high-level meeting was attended by Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, National Security Advisor Lieutenant General Mohammad Asim Malik, and other senior officials. The committee reviewed progress on counter-terrorism measures and stressed enhanced coordination between federal and provincial governments for effective implementation of its recommendations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the valor and dedication of Pakistan’s armed forces, highlighting their pivotal role in successful military operations such as Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad and Operation Zarb-e-Azb. He noted that the international community has acknowledged Pakistan’s decisive victories in the fight against terrorism.
Addressing the meeting, the Prime Minister stated that Pakistan is actively working on a comprehensive, effective, and actionable strategy aimed at completely eliminating extremist elements, including groups like Fitna-e-Hindustan and Fitna-e-Khawarij, which pose serious threats to society.
He also highlighted that curbing smuggling activities has positively impacted the national economy. According to the Prime Minister, a peaceful, terrorism-free, and robust state infrastructure is essential to restore investor confidence at the international level.
The committee emphasized the need for strict implementation of policies to improve intergovernmental cooperation and ensure sustainable gains in the fight against terrorism.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s remarks come amid increasing regional tensions and ongoing security challenges. His administration continues to prioritize security reforms and coordination among law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and stability throughout the country.
