A team of specialist physicians from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Monday conducted a thorough medical examination of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder chairman Imran Khan inside his Adiala Jail cell on Monday, jail sources confirmed.
The medical team, comprising ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialists, attended to Imran Khan’s complaints of ear pain. After a detailed assessment, the doctors prescribed medication and necessary treatment. The checkup lasted over half an hour, following which the medical team departed from the prison premises.
Jail officials said that the PTI chairman remains stable and he is receiving all required medical attention. However, concerns have been raised by his legal team and party members, who continue to demand greater access to specialised healthcare for the detained leader.
The examination comes amid ongoing discussions about Imran Khan’s well-being in custody, with PTI supporters and human rights activists urging authorities to ensure adequate medical facilities for political detainees.
