Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has finally restored its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system after a five-day technical glitch, reports 24NewsHD TV channel. The system’s server hardware was damaged due to a sudden power outage, causing widespread disruptions to the airline’s operations.

The ERP system malfunction had severe consequences, particularly for retired employees who faced difficulties in accessing medicines at the PIA Medical Centre. Moreover, the outage brought PIA’s office work across the country to a standstill, as all office affairs are conducted through the ERP system.

However, after a concerted effort by PIA’s IT department officials, the fault has been removed, and the ERP system has been restored. This comes as a relief to the airline’s employees, customers, and stakeholders who were affected by the outage.

The restoration of the ERP system is expected to normalize PIA’s operations, ensuring smoother functioning of its office affairs and medical services.
