Peshawar High Court Grants Transit and Protective Bail to Over 140 PTI Leaders and Members

Peshawar: The Peshawar High Court has approved transit and protective bail applications for over 140 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, assembly members, and workers following cases filed after the party’s protest at Islamabad’s D-Chowk on November 24.

Since November 28, hearings on over 140 bail applications by PTI leaders and members of the assembly have been conducted in the Peshawar High Court. The court has granted transit bail in more than 70 cases and protective bail in 69 cases, providing relief to all applicants.

Among those granted bail is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Several senior PTI leaders, including PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja and National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub, also secured transit and protective bail from the court. Bushra Bibi, the wife of the PTI founder, was granted protective bail until January 16.

Other prominent figures, including National Assembly members Asad Qaiser, Shibli Faraz, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Sher Afzal Marwat, and Junaid Akbar, also appeared before the court for protective bail. Lawmakers Shehryar Afridi, Atif Khan, Shahram Tarakai, Adil Bazai, Anwar Taj, and Faisal Amin were among those granted bail.

Additionally, provincial ministers Aftab Alam, Faisal Tarakai, Suhail Afridi, and others secured protective bail. Female leaders, including Shandana Gulzar, Zartaj Gul, Suraiya Bibi, Senator Falak Naz, Kanwal Shauzab, Alia Hamza, Sanam Javed, Khadija Shah, Mishal Yousafzai, and Hamida Shah, also received transit and protective bail from the Peshawar High Court.
