Dehli(TheCOWNews Digital)In a chilling revelation, a passenger who traveled just two hours before the Air India Boeing 787 crash has shared alarming observations about the aircraft’s condition. The tragic incident occurred in Ahmedabad, India, where the aircraft, en route to the United Kingdom, crashed within a minute of takeoff, claiming 241 lives. Miraculously, only one passenger survived.

The passenger, identified as Akash Vatsa, posted a video on social media stating that he had flown on the same aircraft earlier that day from Delhi to Hyderabad. In his video, which has gone viral, Akash detailed the poor condition of the plane, raising concerns about Air India’s maintenance standards.

“I flew on this very aircraft just two hours before the crash,” he said. “The air conditioning wasn’t working, the cabin lights were off, and in-flight entertainment screens were all dead.” He also claimed to have recorded a video of the onboard conditions, which he posted online, calling out Air India directly.

In his tweet, Akash questioned, “Is this the quality you promise your passengers?” He added that he would not fly Air India again due to the subpar service and lack of basic functionality aboard the aircraft.

Akash’s post has sparked widespread concern, especially following the crash that killed 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese, and 1 Canadian among others. Aviation analysts and safety experts are now demanding a thorough investigation into Air India’s fleet maintenance protocols, especially for long-haul flights.

Initial reports indicate that the plane crashed less than a minute after takeoff, leaving barely any time for the crew to issue distress calls. The cause of the crash is under investigation, but technical faults or mechanical failure are among the suspected factors.

Social media users and aviation watchdogs have taken Akash’s revelations seriously, suggesting they could be critical evidence in the investigation. Families of the victims are also calling for accountability and transparency.

This tragedy has once again raised global concerns about airline safety standards in South Asia. With mounting pressure, Air India and regulatory bodies will likely face intense scrutiny in the coming days.
