Islamabad ( The COW News Digital)Pakistan and the United States have agreed to strengthen joint measures to combat terrorism, reaffirming their shared commitment to eliminate all forms of extremist violence. The latest round of counterterrorism talks took place in Islamabad, bringing together senior officials from both countries to discuss strategies for regional and global security.

The meetings were co-chaired by Pakistan’s Special Secretary for the United Nations, Nabeel Munir, and Gregory D. Logerfo, Acting Coordinator for Counterterrorism at the U.S. Department of State. Both delegations emphasized the need for effective, coordinated approaches to address ongoing terrorist threats in the region, including the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Daesh Khorasan, and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

During the discussions, the United States lauded Pakistan’s sustained successes against terrorist organizations and extended condolences for recent attacks that claimed the lives of civilians and law enforcement personnel, including the deadly Jaafar Express attack and the Khuzdar school bus bombing.

The two sides stressed the importance of strengthening institutional frameworks, enhancing capabilities, and leveraging technology to prevent terrorist activities. They agreed that a multi-layered approach combining intelligence sharing, technological countermeasures, and rapid operational coordination is essential for lasting impact.
