Pakistan to Attend UN-Hosted Doha Talks on Afghanistan

  • The meeting will take place on June 30 and July 1, with representatives of civil society and women set to attend a session with UN officials on July 2.
  • The United Nations has confirmed the attendance of representatives from 22 countries and nearly eight international organizations.
  • Rosemary DiCarlo, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, will host and lead the meeting.
  • The 22 countries include Western nations, Afghanistan’s neighbors, and regional powers such as Russia and China.
