Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to working alongside Türkiye in eliminating terrorism in all its manifestations.
In a statement posted on social media, PM Sharif welcomed Türkiye’s move toward the dissolution of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), calling it a major step towards lasting peace and security in the region.
“This historic development reflects the leadership, resilience, and determination of my dear brother President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Turkish nation in their continued journey toward reconciliation, unity, and stability,” the Prime Minister said.
He further noted that the dismantling of the PKK marks a significant milestone in Türkiye’s battle against terrorism, and Pakistan strongly supports this progress.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan also lauded the development, stating, “Pakistan welcomes the announcement of PKK’s dissolution and stands with Türkiye in its fight against terrorism.”
