Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has strongly criticized India’s response to the recent Pahalgam incident, accusing New Delhi of using a false flag operation to malign Pakistan. Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Tarar said India’s narrative is collapsing on the global stage, leaving the country in a state of “panic and desperation.”
The minister revealed that Pakistan has taken decisive action by closing its airspace to Indian aircraft, resulting in a dramatic spike in airfares across India. “All Indian newspapers are headlining the closure of Pakistani airspace,” he said. “Several flights have been either cancelled or rerouted through longer paths, causing severe disruptions.”
Tarar noted that Pakistan has also completely suspended trade with India, even through third-party countries, further isolating New Delhi economically.
He emphasized that the National Security Committee had convened immediately after the alleged false flag attack and signaled Pakistan’s full preparedness to respond to any aggression. “The armed forces of Pakistan are vigilant and ready. While we are a peaceful country, we will not hesitate to respond forcefully to any misadventure,” he said.
Tarar mocked the swiftness with which India registered a First Information Report (FIR) on the Pahalgam incident. “How can an FIR be filed just 10 minutes after the attack ends, without investigation or evidence gathering?” he questioned. He argued that the hastily prepared FIR exposed the fabricated nature of the operation, comparing it to routine cases filed in local police stations rather than a matter of international importance.
He also pointed out inconsistencies in India’s approach, criticizing its attempt to unilaterally suspend the Indus Waters Treaty — a move Tarar called both illegal and irrational. “Water is Pakistan’s lifeline, and we will respond robustly to any such provocation,” he warned.
Highlighting recent reports of extrajudicial killings, the minister claimed that in the aftermath of the Pahalgam incident, Indian forces have begun targeting Pakistani prisoners and Kashmiri civilians. He cited the deaths of Altaf Lali in Bandipora and Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Deen in the Uri sector, accusing Indian forces of carrying out staged encounters.
Tarar also addressed the internal failures of the Indian military, referring to a recent incident in Madhya Pradesh where an Indian Air Force jet accidentally dropped a bomb on a civilian area. “This is the level of their professional capability — they end up bombing their own people,” he remarked.
In a broader critique, Tarar said that Pakistan has gained a clear upper hand in the narrative war. “India’s falsehoods are being exposed, and even Indian journalists are now admitting defeat on social media. Meanwhile, Pakistan stands united, exposing India’s propaganda with clarity and consistency.”
He concluded by reminding India of Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. “We have lost 80,000 lives battling terrorism. India, on the other hand, uses terrorism as a tool and plays the victim,” he said. “Let there be no doubt — Pakistan is united, resilient, and ready to expose and counter every move by India.”
