Pakistan Government Confirms Installation of Advanced Web Management System

The Pakistan government has confirmed the installation of an advanced Web Management System (WMS) to regulate and manage online content. The system, upgraded by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), can monitor, detect, and block websites and mobile apps involved in unlawful activities, data leakage, or harmful content.

The PTA has already blocked 2,369 URLs and 183 mobile apps under the new system. The WMS allows for autonomous content blocking, increasing the system’s effectiveness and agility.

The system aims to prevent the spread of misinformation, obscene content, and hate materials. It also filters and blocks content that poses a threat to national security or state integrity.
