Islamabad(TheCOWNews Digital)Pakistan strongly defended Iran’s right to self-defense during a high-level meeting of the United Nations Security Council, condemning Israel for what it called serious violations of international law and the UN Charter.

Speaking at the session, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Munir Akram, declared that “Iran is fully entitled to defend itself” under the provisions of the UN Charter. He described the recent Israeli airstrikes on Iranian territory as blatant aggression and a breach of international sovereignty.

“Israel’s actions represent a grave violation of international law,” Akram stated. “No state can be allowed to act as judge, jury, and executioner on the international stage.”

The Pakistani envoy emphasized that Israel’s repeated violations not only endanger regional peace but also threaten global stability. He called on the international community to take urgent and meaningful action to stop what he described as unchecked Israeli aggression.

“The assault on Iranian sovereignty is part of a broader pattern,” he added, “as we’ve seen the Israeli forces indiscriminately targeting civilians in Gaza, including women and children. The humanitarian cost is staggering and unconscionable.”

Ambassador Akram urged the Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities under the UN Charter and take a firm stance against Israel’s continued military operations. He warned that inaction or selective justice would further embolden illegal state behavior, destabilizing an already fragile Middle East.

“The world must not look the other way,” Akram insisted. “If the international community fails to act now, the consequences could be catastrophic not just for the region, but for international peace and security at large.”

He concluded by reiterating Pakistan’s call for a just and lasting solution to the conflict in accordance with international law, and by expressing full solidarity with all nations facing aggression and occupation.

The remarks come at a time when global concern is growing over the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, with missile exchanges intensifying and diplomatic tensions rising sharply.
