Rajgal, Khyber District: The Pakistan Army conducted a successful operation in the Rajgal area of Khyber District, eliminating four infiltrators attempting to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR reported that the group of infiltrators was intercepted during their attempt to breach the border. In the ensuing firefight, 22-year-old Sepoy Aamir Sohail Afridi fought valiantly and embraced martyrdom.
The statement reiterated Pakistan’s repeated calls for improved border management from the interim Afghan government. “We expect the interim Afghan government to fulfill its responsibilities and ensure that Afghan soil is not used for activities against Pakistan,” the ISPR said, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to securing borders and eradicating terrorism.
Security Forces Eliminate High-Value Target in Tank Operation
Earlier, security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, neutralizing seven key insurgents, including the highly sought-after commander, Ali Rehman alias Taha Swati. Rehman was a close associate of Mufti Fazlullah, a senior leader of the banned TTP.
According to security sources, the operation took place on the night of December 17-18. Rehman, a prominent member of the insurgent council, joined the banned TTP in 2010 and was a key operative of the faction led by Mufti Mazahim alias Qari Amjad.
During the operation, Rehman took two children hostage and attempted to escape disguised in women’s clothing. The insurgent used the children as human shields, but security forces’ swift and strategic actions ensured the safe rescue of the hostages.
These operations underscore the determination of Pakistan’s security forces to maintain national security and eliminate terrorism in all its forms.
