Islamabad | June 13, 2025 —
In response to Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iran, the Pakistani government has activated a Crisis Management Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure the safety and support of Pakistani nationals and pilgrims currently in Iran.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar strongly condemned the Israeli attacks, describing them as an “unjustified aggression” and a “flagrant violation of Iranian sovereignty.” In a statement posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Dar criticized the assault, saying it “shook the conscience of humanity” and undermined both regional stability and international security.
He emphasized Pakistan’s solidarity with the Iranian government and its people, reiterating the country’s commitment to peace and diplomacy in the region.
“This heinous act has violated the very foundations of international law and has had deeply destabilizing consequences for the region,” Dar wrote in his official post.
To address the concerns of Pakistani citizens and pilgrims in Iran, Dar announced the activation of a round-the-clock Crisis Management Unit that will operate seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The unit is designed to coordinate with relevant authorities and provide real-time support to Pakistani nationals affected by the situation.
Additionally, the Pakistani Embassy in Tehran has been instructed to extend all necessary assistance to citizens and religious visitors currently in the country. A hotline has been established for direct communication and support. The emergency contact number released by the embassy is:
📞 +98-2166941388
Foreign Office officials have confirmed that the embassy staff are in contact with local authorities and Pakistani communities in various parts of Iran to monitor developments and ensure the safety of all nationals.
Pakistan joins a growing list of nations that have condemned Israel’s airstrikes, which reportedly targeted Iranian military and nuclear facilities, escalating tensions in an already volatile Middle East. While Iran has vowed to respond, international calls for restraint continue to grow.
Political analysts warn that the rapidly deteriorating situation could have wider implications, not only for Iran and Israel but for the entire region, particularly for countries with large numbers of citizens in affected zones.
Pakistan’s timely diplomatic and consular response reflects its broader foreign policy stance of non-intervention, sovereignty, and regional cooperation, officials added.
As the situation unfolds, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to issue updates and work in close coordination with its missions abroad to prioritize citizen safety and international diplomacy.
