Police in the city of punjab Chowk Azam intercepted a truck transporting dead chickens, while the driver managed to escape.
According to details, the truck was seized near Hayat Canal and was found carrying over 60 maunds of dead chickens.
Police stated that the truck driver and other staff fled the scene. However, authorities also confiscated three rickshaws and two motorcycles involved in the supply chain.
Earlier, the Punjab Food Authority, acting on a tip-off, had intercepted a vehicle loaded with dead chickens in the Basirpur area of Okara.
Sources revealed that the deceased chickens were intended for sale to retailers and restaurants. The Food Authority disposed of the entire consignment to prevent it from reaching the market.
