Gaza City ( The COW News Digital)Israeli airstrikes on Gaza continued with devastating intensity, claiming the lives of over 150 Palestinians in the last 24 hours, including 90 civilians waiting for food aid, according to international media and Palestinian officials.
Among the victims was Suleiman Al-Obaid, a former member of the Palestinian national football team, who was killed by Israeli fire while awaiting food distribution. The Palestinian Football Association confirmed his death, calling it a loss not only to sport but to humanity.
In one of the deadliest strikes, Israeli forces targeted a health center in Sheikh Radwan, a northern Gaza neighborhood. The late-night airstrike completely destroyed the facility, leaving dozens buried under rubble. Rescue workers described the scene as catastrophic, with medical aid facilities already stretched beyond capacity.
Adding to the tragedy, 20 Palestinians were killed after aid trucks were redirected onto damaged roads by Israeli forces. The trucks overturned due to craters and destruction, crushing people who had gathered in desperation to receive food.
The Palestinian Health Ministry reports a worsening hunger crisis in Gaza, with over 28,000 cases of severe malnutrition among children. In the last 24 hours alone, five more people, including children, have died from hunger-related causes, bringing the total to 193 hunger-related deaths, including 96 children.
According to UNICEF, an average of 28 children are dying daily in Gaza due to a combination of Israeli bombings and famine-like conditions. The organization says that more than 18,000 children have been killed since the conflict began nearly 22 months ago.
The World Food Programme (WFP) has called for an “avalanche of humanitarian aid,” warning that trickles of food trucks are insufficient. Meanwhile, European Commission Vice President strongly condemned Israel’s apparent goal of full control over Gaza, labeling it “provocative and unacceptable.”
Despite international condemnation, there are no signs of de-escalation. The people of Gaza remain trapped in an increasingly dire humanitarian catastrophe, with aid blocked, infrastructure destroyed, and essential services like hospitals and water cut off.
