Peshawar, (News Desk) Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, has explained his absence from the government talks, attributing it to his appearance at the Peshawar High Court. Speaking to the media during his court appearance, Ayub clarified that he had been involved in legal proceedings related to the cases filed against him by the government and was unable to attend the negotiations.
“I was in Peshawar High Court yesterday in connection with the Form 47 case and other legal matters, which is why I couldn’t participate in the talks,” Ayub said, responding to media reports suggesting his absence from the negotiations. He requested the media to verify such claims before publishing, adding, “I hope the negotiations will be successful.”
Later, the Peshawar High Court granted Ayub one-month interim bail in connection with the ongoing cases. During the hearing, Justice Ijaz Anwar acknowledged the opposition leader’s legal challenges and the difficulty in attending multiple proceedings. Ayub’s lawyer, Alam Khan Adinzai, presented the case, noting that Ayub’s involvement in national-level talks and legal obligations made it hard to attend every court session.
The court granted Ayub a one-month period to manage his legal affairs, and remarked that he must attend future court hearings during this time. “We are granting you time; please ensure to appear in court on the designated dates,” the judge said.
