In a bid to enhance its tourism sector, Oman has introduced a free 10-day visit visa for passengers and crew members of cruise ships arriving in the Sultanate. This decision, outlined in Decision No. 132/2024, aims to attract more visitors to the country and stimulate economic growth.
The new regulations, effective immediately, allow tourists and crew members to obtain a 10-day visa upon request of the tourist ship agent, with entry required within 30 days. Additionally, a one-month visa is available under similar terms. This initiative is expected to significantly boost Oman’s tourism industry, showcasing its rich culture, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality.
The amendments to the Executive Regulations of the Foreigners’ Residence Law include:
- A 10-day visit visa for passengers and crew of cruise ships, granted upon request of the tourist ship agent
- A one-month visa available under similar terms
- A free visit visa for passengers and crew of cruise ships for a period not exceeding 10 days
This move demonstrates Oman’s commitment to developing its tourism sector, providing a seamless and welcoming experience for visitors.
