The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held an extraordinary meeting in Jeddah to discuss Israeli “crimes” against Palestinians and “aggressions” against Iran’s sovereignty. OIC Secretary-General Hussein Ibrahim Taha strongly condemned Israel’s war crimes in Gaza, calling for joint efforts to hold Israel accountable and implement international resolutions.

Taha denounced Israel’s disregard for international laws and norms, and condemned measures such as vetoing Palestinian statehood resolutions and designating UNRWA as a terrorist organization. He urged support for UNRWA’s budget to alleviate Palestinian humanitarian suffering.

The meeting also addressed the assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, calling it an attack on Iran’s sovereignty and a violation of international law.

The OIC’s condemnation comes amid Israel’s devastating Gaza offensive, resulting in over 39,600 Palestinian deaths and 91,600 injuries, mostly women and children. The OIC demands immediate action to address the humanitarian crisis and hold Israel accountable for its actions.
