OGDCL Discovers New Gas and Condensate Reserves in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat

Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the discovery of new gas and condensate reserves in Lakki Marwat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to an OGDCL spokesperson, the reserves were uncovered in the Samanasuk Formation within the Wali Block, marking the first hydrocarbon discovery in the area. The Betani-2 well is currently producing 2.14 million standard cubic feet of gas and 74 barrels of condensate per day.

The spokesperson highlighted that the Betani-2 well represents a significant achievement for OGDCL in the Samanasuk Formation. This discovery also opens the potential for further exploration and drilling of additional wells in the region.

The discovery is seen as a promising development for the energy sector, contributing to Pakistan’s efforts to enhance local energy production.
