Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shaukat Yousafzai has stated that negotiations with the government cannot progress unless two key demands of the party are accepted.
Discussing the ongoing talks with the government, Yousafzai emphasized that PTI has finalized two main conditions for moving forward with the discussions. These demands include the release of innocent political workers and the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9 and November 26.
He further stated that if the government does not accept these two demands, there can be no progress in the negotiations. PTI has set its agenda, and there is no possibility of moving forward in talks unless these two points are addressed. PTI will not back down from these demands.
Yousafzai also noted that the PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, has maintained the stance of a civil disobedience movement. He explained that the future of this movement depends on the government’s response. If the government demonstrates seriousness and ensures the implementation of these two demands, PTI will appeal to Imran Khan to withdraw the civil disobedience movement.
However, if the government fails to show flexibility or implement these demands, the civil disobedience movement will continue, and PTI will escalate its protest. The government has until January 30 to address these issues.
