Islamabad: Chairman of the Sunni Ittehad Council, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, has revealed that there has been no progress in ongoing political negotiations.
In a conversation with ARY News, Hamid Raza, an ally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), expressed concern over the lack of conducive conditions for meaningful dialogue. “No significant steps have been taken so far, and the environment does not seem favorable for negotiations,” he said.
He explained that the civil disobedience movement was postponed on the advice of other opposition leaders to allow time for the negotiation process. “We are giving negotiations a chance, which is why the movement has been deferred,” Raza remarked.
He further stated, “Those who want to negotiate will do so; those who don’t, won’t. I never change my position based on speeches in the parliament. While such speeches may give the impression of imminent change, that is rarely the case.”
Raza warned the government, saying, “If the government fails to take this seriously, they will be the ones at a loss. It does not affect us. The Speaker’s offer for dialogue as the custodian of the House is a positive gesture.”
The political impasse continues as hopes for constructive talks remain uncertain.
