Dispelling the impression that the PTI was going to strike a ‘deal’ with the establishment, the party’s General Secretary Salman Akram Raja said on Saturday there was no such thing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He was speaking to reporters at an anti-terrorism court in Lahore.
When asked that a senior PTI leader, Azam Swati, had talked about former prime minister and the party founder Imran Khan striking a ‘deal’ with those in the corridors of power, Raja said this was not in his knowledge. “Swati might be making efforts in this direction. But the party is certainly not,” he said.

What the PTI wanted, he added, was that there should be a rule of law in the country. “We want free and fair elections in the country. We don’t want political workers to be kidnapped. We want that basic human rights must be protected.”
The PTI’s general secretary opined the reason why the government was not allowing the party leaders to meet Imran was because it wanted the situation to remain uncertain.
